Remote participation allows you to watch live via 2-way camera and includes  all handouts, CE credits & certificate, and full technical support (including facilitating live questions). Remote options include both the individual option which allows you to watch from the comfort of your own location or  the group option. Group option allows you to set up your site as a group site and have as many as you wish to join (please contact us for group pricing).

Cancellations prior to October 28th will be refunded in full (minus a $25 processing fee). Cancellations after October 28th will not be refunded, but those who are unable to make it are entitled to a credit towards a future training.

About the Workshop:


Focus of this workshop will be on case discussion of actual pts. struggling with OCD and related issues. Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring case problems to obtain specific guidance and discussion.  If appropriate and available, we will have 2 live demonstrations (please let us know if you have a client willing to be interviewed). The overall focus of the day will be upon troubleshooting obstacles in designing, motivating and implementing exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD.

In this workshop, the Dr. Grayson will discuss these treatment issues and solutions. Topics will include proper treatment preparation, co-morbidity, difficult OCD manifestations and Strategic Pressure for treatment refusal.


This is an advanced workshop. Participants can purchase the entire package of Part I (Powerpoints and 6 hour video-recording) . It is $100 for entire package.

 Meet the Instructor:


Jonathan B. Grayson, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist, director of the Grayson Center and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry & the Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern California where he lectures and supervises residents.  Dr Grayson has been specializing in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) for more than 35 years and is a nationally recognized expert and author of Freedom from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: a Personalized Recovery Program for Living with Uncertainty, a self-help guide for sufferers. In 2010, the International OCD Foundation awarded Dr. Grayson the Patty Perkins Lifetime Achievement Award for his devotion and contributions to the treatment of those with OCD. In October of 2010, the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies gave his book, Freedom from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, the Self Help Book of Merit Award, recognizing his book as providing sufferers with the highest level of information about the best practices treatment for OCD. Dr. Grayson has presented workshops and written numerous articles and book chapters for both professional and lay audiences, including two manual/ videotape sets made for the International OCD Foundation (The GOAL Handbook: Running a Successful Support Group for OCD and How to Recognize and Respond to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in School Age Children). His work and expertise has been featured in national media including, People MagazineThe Oprah Winfrey Show and Nightline. He serves on both the Scientific Advisory Board and the Speakers Bureau of the International OCD Foundation. In 1981, along with Gayle Frankel (the former president of the Philadelphia Affiliate of the OC Foundation), he started the first support group in the country for OCD. In 2015, helped to form and donate his time to a free GOAL support group in LA. Finally, he has the distinction of being the first and possibly the only professional to run a yearly OCD camping trip.


CE Information:

Psychologists and Social workers who participate in this course will receive 5.5 continuing education clock hours.

Learning Objectives: At end of the workshop, participants will:


  1. Know how to help clients become treatment ready for different OCD presentations;
  2.    Learn how to identify different sources of treatment resistance;
  3.    Learn different techniques for motivating clients/overcoming client resistance in treatment, e.g. incorporating ACT into your treatment;
  4. Learn the principles and design of Strategic Pressure for treatment refusing children and/or adult children living at home.
