Introduction to IFS/IFIO Couple Therapy – Intimacy From the Inside Out with Judi Zoldan, LICSW

Description

This introductory IFIO (Intimacy From the Inside Out) workshop presents an attachment-based, experiential model of couple therapy rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS). Drawing on current research in couple therapy, emotion regulation, and interpersonal neurobiology, the course introduces key IFS/IFIO concepts including multiplicity of mind, Self-energy, internal secure attachment, and the role of protective parts in couple dynamics.

Participants learn how inner security and self-regulation support co-regulation and relational bonding, and how unblending from reactive parts makes couple sessions safer and more effective. The workshop applies these concepts to tracking conflict patterns, identifying protectors’ hopes and fears, and facilitating structured invitations toward vulnerability. Cultural responsiveness, courageous communication, intrapsychic work in the presence of the other, and therapist stance are integrated through didactic teaching, demonstrations, and practice.
