Kazdin Parent Management Training – Basic and Advanced
Description
Effective strategies are taught using an evidence-based treatment called Kazdin Parent Management Training (KPMT). The strategies revolve around the use of positive reinforcement, antecedents, practice, and problem solving. The treatment greatly improves pro-social behavior as well as decreases children’s oppositional and aggressive behavior. The treatment and its effects have been well documented in many studies.
The instructors have worked with thousands of families, educators, and clinicians to help parents make significant changes in how they respond to very difficult, often provocative behaviors. Such skills are designed to significantly improve the vast relationships in a child’s life which ultimately leads to a happier, healthier child.
This training was developed by Dr. Alan Kazdin who wrote to us the following: “These two trainers have years of experience doing workshops with mental health professionals. Each also has a warm, welcoming style. They have worked with a few thousand families and have seen seemingly every imaginable child and adolescent problems that occur in the home or at school. They are extremely qualified and it gives me nachas every time I see them in action!”
